Here is how Friday is shaping up. Dry and windy. From the National Weather Service:

Statement as of 8:35 PM MDT on August 04, 2009
... Fire Weather Watch in effect from Friday morning through
Friday evening...

The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a Fire
Weather Watch... which is in effect from Friday morning through
Friday evening.

An unseasonably strong trough of low pressure will approach Arizona
from the west on Friday. This system is expected to bring stronger
winds and much drier conditions to northern Arizona. Southwest winds
will likely exceed 20 mph along with gusts to around 35 mph from
late Friday morning through Friday afternoon. The afternoon
minimum relative humidity could drop to between 8 and 12 percent
over a large area of northern Arizona. The combination of strong
winds and low relative humidity could result in critical fire
weather conditions from Friday morning into Friday evening.
