I woke up this morning and felt different. The air was cool and crisp. Wait a minute, cool and crisp? I couldn’t believe it. I went and checked my towel from yesterday. It was actually dry! I looked outside. There were stars in sky! The side walk was dry! Overnight, the dewpoint fell as the air dried to a more seasonable level.
Still, the dewpoint is a robust 52 degrees this morning. Which is still about 4 degrees above average. It will most likely rise during the day as heating causes some evaporation at the surface. But, the lack of clouds points to a lower amount of precipitable water. We should continue to taper to a normal monsoon pattern through the week. However, today could see the development of some strong thunderstorms.
